Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess. above Or a sinister facing demi-lion issuant Sable armed and tongued Gules, below Azure a pair of arrows Argent in saltire and pointing downwards.
Meaning:
According to source the arms are based on the seal of the Amt Baesweiler from 1556. The lion is symbolising the Dukes of Jülich, the former rulers. The origin of the arrows is not known.
