Glattbach Coat of Arms

Shield Or parted by a bend sinister wavy Azure, in dexter chief an inescutcheon Sable charged with a double-heded stork issuant Argent armed Gules, in sinister base thread spools Or in bend sinister with thread Gules.
Meaning:
The blue bend wavy is a canting element, representing a creek (German: Bach). The stork is taken from the arms of the Lords of Wasen, who owned a local estate between 1387 and 1528. The spools are referring to the origin of the clothing industry of nearby Aschaffenburg. Johann Desch, born 1848 in Glattbach, created the reach-me-down by using standardised pre-cuts.
