- Kozojídky, Hodonín district, South Moravian region - adopted 22 Nov 2001.
Kozojídky has 450 inhabitants. A small village located about 4 km southeasterly
from Veselí nad Moravou. The village was mentioned for the first time in
1490 as a dorp built at goat pastures (kozí pastviny) which gave it its
name. Its first owners were peers from Ostroh. Kozojídky is a birthplace
of an academic painter Karel Benedík. Folk customs are well preserved here
as St. Martin's feast in folk costumes or colouring eggs. Kozojídky is
a wine village as well falling in the region of Strážnice. There is an
annual traditional wine gustation accompanied by a dulcimer band in the
time before Easter.
