Translated from municipal
web site:
"The flag of Páez is made of three stripes, whose
proportions and distribution are proportional to their
significant contributions to unity and equity in our people.
White, in the second stripe, means the purity of our spirit and
is the symbol of peace that we want to preserve and transfer to
our sons.
The red stripes bordering the central stripe represent the blood
in our veins, transferred by our courageous ancestors, example of
social and politic organization, clever and valuable.
The two red stripes shelter the white stripe, as thr sum of the
intrinsic values of our people and a courageous search for
peace."
