On 1 January 2021 the new commune was formed through the merger of Welschenrohr and Gänsbrunnen.
Per bend sinister Gules and Argent a Cramp fesswise counterchanged.
Željko Heimer, 1 November 2002
[The angled cramp in the emblem has a military background: According to a source from 1689, the Thal district communes belonged to the fourth and fifth company of the second regiment of the Solothurn militia army. The figure 4 at that time was written like an 8 open at the bottom; the figure 5 resembled an angle. The most emblems of the Thal district show either derivations of the figure 4 (Balsthal, Laupersdorf) or 5 (Aedermannsdorf, Herbetswil, Matzendorf, Welschenrohr)]
Vert three Geese Argent.
Željko Heimer, 31 October 2002
[The emblem is canting with the geese (German: Gans, plural: Gänse)]
