The flag of Krummenau is canting. Krumm = curved and Au is derived from a term meaning brook (as in Danish Â).
Pascal Gross and Ole Andersen, 18 December 2000

[Au can be derived from Aa, Ach (brook, river), but there is also the word Au, Aue (river flat)]

The stone (in German Stein) on the canting flag of Stein is more than a stone but the Goggeienberg, a local crag I've not been able to find on any map.
Pascal Gross, 19 December 2000

[The mountain's name is Goggeien and can be located with this name (photo, source)]
