On a blue field in the upper three-quarters five silver four-pointed stars and
one larger with fourteen rays alternating longer and shorter lengths.
In the bottom quarter, divided into four bands, the lower violet, two saber
[purple?] surrounding one ochre.
The Southern Cross has its location on the continent, the larger star symbolizes
the chief city. The twin [star]s below the railway which facilitated its
development. The ochre band, the Alsina ditch. The purple belt, fields.
