About the center

The Cultural Center "Pueblo Blanco", a private entity located at Punta del Este, started its academic and cultural activities on 8 January 1988.

The name of the center, lit. "White People", refers to white as the mix of all colours, recalling that the center is a place of humanism and tolerance.

Flag

The flag of the Centro Cultural Pueblo Blanco, as shown on a photo taken on 20 June 2007 available on Flickr, is white with the emblem of the center in the middle.

The emblem of Pueblo Blanco, the "Eurindian sun", combines the windrose, used by the European sailors to reach South America, and the Sun Stone, the Aztec calendar. The face placed in the center of the emblem is made of the combination of two human profiles, the bearded one representing Europe and the other, with autochtonous traits, representing America.
