Description of the Flag

The flag is a medium blue, with the county seal in the center, with 13 five-pointed white stars in an arc above the seal, and 1847 written in white below the seal. In the upper hoist quadrant is the county seal again, this time upon a brown, seven-pointed star bordered gold; the star is arranged so that one ray points down, and two point up. An image of the seal appears at http://www.co.linn.or.us/ [note that in each of the three instances cited the seal has a different color border]

A variant (or possible revision) of this flag, missing the seal and seven-pointed star in the upper hoist area and with slight differences in font and artwork, was given by county commissioners to Oregon Army National Guard units deploying to Afghanistan.
