Kubáňovo (in Hungarian Szete) has got 354 inhabitants (84,18% Hungarian, 13,84% Slovakian; 1990 census). The village - like the majority of the settlements of Levice okres - was part of the Hont (in Slovakian Hont) county of the Kingdom of Hungary till 1919/1920. 1920-1938 part of Czechoslovakia, 1938-1944 part of Hungary. The Treaty of Paris (ended the
WWII) reallocated it to Czechoslovakia. From 1993 it is in Slovakia. The colours refer to the Hungarian national colours and are based on the colours of the Coat of Arms of the settlement.
