Shield Argent with base wavy of Vert, Argent and Azure, a chair Gules garnished Or and on its backrest charged with a Papal cross Argent, flanked in chief by two grapevines Purpure leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black upper case letters "S. PEDRO DA CADEIRA".
Meaning:
The toponym means literally St. Peter of the Chair (canting arms), a name taken from the Catholic parish, the commune was created from in the 1830s. The papal cross here seems to be an attribute of the saint. The wavy base in both green and blue denotes, as usual, the local importance of the commune's both riverside and coastal location.
