It is fairily typical portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms
centered on a yellow and red quarterly (town rank)
background. Flag and arms adopted and published in the official journal

The arms are
Argent a bunch of grapes Gules leaved and trunked Sable and on a bordure
Sable eight bees Or. Mural crown argent with four visible towers (town
rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "Vila de Mondim
de Basto".

of 8 communes covering 171,87 km². It is part of
