Blazon: I grønt en sølv fløterhake, skrått framvoksende fra høyre. In English: Vert a grapling hook argent issuant in bend sinistre from base dexter.
Approved by the royal resolution of 19 December 1986 after a drawing by Harald Hallstensen. [c2j87]
The site at http://oddso.nvg.org/nlv/0227.html  explains that the design represents importance of logging for the municipality. Namely, the grapling hook was used by loggers to steer the logs in streams. The http://www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Fet  also states that the green and silver where chosen to cant the municipal name, being an ancient name denoting a field (green) near a lake (silver). (also mentioned in [c2j87])
