Kollumerzwaag village (Kollumersweach)

Kollumerzwaag is a village with c. 3.000 inhabitants, which has absorbed the former villages of Zandbulten and Zwagerveen.
Kollumerzwaag / Kollumersweach - "Flag: Three vertical stripes VYV, proportioned 1:2:1, with in the center a low pedestal, with three pinnacles, a rectangular gate, and two narrow rectangular windows.
Heigt of tower : flagheight = 1:2; Width of tower : flagheight = 1:3
Colors: clear-green, clear-red en princes-yellow.
The village is also known as "De Sweach". The tower is a reminder of an order by Groningen to the villagers to demolish the three castles on their territory. No traces are left of the "stinsen", castles. Nickname: Hynstestrûpers (horse-knackers), after some redoubtable villagers who practised that ignominious job.
