Presentation of Bateaux Parisiens

Bateaux Parisiens (website) was founded in Paris in 1956 by André Pignarre, Director of the restaurants of the Eiffel Tower, on the model of the Amsterdam tourist ships. The company was purchased in 1987 by Sodexho, the world leader of institutional catering, also owner of other tourist ship companies in the United Kingdom and the United States. The company operates seven "promenade" ships (without restaurant) named after movie stars (Jeanne Moreau, Isabelle Adjani, Catherine Deneuve, Brigitte Bardot, Juliette Gréco, Jean Marais and Yves Montand), five "restaurant" ships (with either lunch or dinner served onboard) and seven "Batobus" ships (in charge of the Voguéo passenger line on the Seine on behalf of the Transportation Syndicate of [Region] Île-de-France; stopped in June 2011, the service is expected to resume in 2013).

House flags of Bateaux Parisiens

Bateaux Parisiens has, recently, radically changed its corporate identity. The company uses now two house flags, hoisted on the terrace of Port de La Bourdonnais, close to the Eiffel Tower, and shown on photos available on the company's website:
- an orange flag with the white lettering "Bateaux / Parisiens", with "Parisiens" in bold letters. The lettering, unsurprisingly, is the same on the flag as on the frontpage of the company's website;
- a white flag with the new company's logo, made of an orange disk charged with a white screw and surrounded by a thick gray border.

The former house flag of "Bateaux Parisiens", as seen on a photo taken in June 2008, is similar to the company's former logo, white with a dark blue element charged with the white lettering "Bateaux / Parisiens" flanked on its right by the image of a golden Eiffel Tower mirrored in water; a thin, light blue wave is placed under the dark blue element.
