Former flag of the General Council of Nièvre - Image by Ivan Sache, 25 November 2001
The flag of the General Council of Nièvre, as reported by Pascal Vagnat in August 1998, is white with the former logo of the General Council placed on a white field. This flag must be obsolete since the General Council has slightly modified its logo.
The former logo is a parallelogram divided black-green by an ascending sinuous white road, forming a stylized "N". CONSEIL GÉNÉRAL DE LA NIÈVRE is written in black letters below. On the new logo, the upper part is brown instead of black and thewriting, in italics, is placed above the parallelogram, CONSEIL GÉNÉRAL in black letters in a white cartouche, DE LA NIÈVRE in white letter on the top of the brown panel.
