The shield is divided per fess. Above in a blue field is a silver lion passant guardant. The silver field beneath is divided by a black saltire, charged with a pair of golden keys.
Meaning:
The lion is a modification of the arms of the Westernhagen kin. The saltire is an attribute of St. Andrew, the local patron saint, the keys are attributes of St. Peter, patron of nearby monastery of Teistungenburg.

Teistungen had 2497 inhabitants in 2015 and covers 26.2 km². The municipality was first mentioned in 1062.
