Description of the flag

The flag is vertically divided approximately 3:4:2 yellow-illustration-yellow. The illustration consists of a coastal view with white sky above blue sea, two black islets, a black whale's flukes and three flying gulls. In the fly yellow stripe is a map of the island of Newfoundland.
