About the Flag

The municipality of Borebi (2,295 inhabitants in 2010; 34,812 ha) is located 300 km of São Paulo.

Borebi was founded, as Santa Maria de Borebi, on 8 August 1898. Borebi means the "tapir's well" in Tupi-Guarani. The municipality of Borebi was established by State Law No. 6,645 of 9 January 1990, seceding from Lençóis Paulista, and inaugurated on 1 January 1993.
